About
“Jeff” is Dr. Jeffrey R. Fox, sometime scientist, programmer, teacher, and confirmed generalist. The Blog as much an attempt to save archival memory for the author as it is information for the community of readers, and it shows. I have no “belief system,” only the practical is worth mentioning here. I do have some working hypotheses:
1. Simulation of physical systems, particularly if it results in an engaging visualization, is a valuable way to learn about the dynamics of such systems, and can be a valuable way to teach.
2. Mobile computing, the persistent presence of a miniature programmable device, is a good thing. The “office” should go with you, but be so small as to never encumber.
3. Starve to Live: reduction of caloric intake is a key to longevity.
4. Creative work is the cure to what ails me, and maybe you.
